Romans 3:20

Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

Translations of Today's Verse

King James Version

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in God's sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

English Standard Version

For by works of the law no human beingGreek flesh will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

The Message

Our involvement with God's revelation doesn't put us right with God. What it does is force us to face our complicity in everyone else's sin.

New King James Version

Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

New Living Translation

For no one can ever be made right in God's sight by doing what his law commands. For the more we know God's law, the clearer it becomes that we aren't obeying it.

20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.

22 This righteousness is given through faith inOr "through the faithfulness of" Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
